Bowmore 15 Year Old is an Islay single malt bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is matured first in bourbon barrels, then spends its final three years in Oloroso sherry casks.
The sherry wood brings richness and fruit, while the Islay peat stays present without dominating, giving a balance of smoke and sherry.
The nose shows dried fruit, treacle toffee and sherry-soaked oak, with soft coastal smoke. On the palate there is dark chocolate, raisins, roasted coffee and peat smoke, with warming spice and a silky texture. The finish is long, sweet and smoky, with burnt sugar, citrus peel and a little sea salt.
