This is a 15 year old Islay single malt from Bowmore. It spends 12 years in ex-bourbon casks, followed by 3 years in European oak Oloroso sherry casks. It is chill-filtered and has added colouring.
The nose offers candied orange, toasted walnuts, blackberry jam and a little liquorice, with cedarwood and treacle toffee. On the palate come raisins, apricot, dark chocolate, molasses, clove and black pepper, with burnt oak and soft peat smoke. The finish is long and woody, with charred oak, liquorice, spice and a trace of smoke.
