This is Bowmore 15 Year Old, a single malt from Islay bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is matured first in bourbon barrels and then in Oloroso sherry casks, with the final three years spent in the Oloroso casks. That time in sherry wood gives the whisky its deep colour and a warming finish.
The nose has dark chocolate and raisin alongside the classic Bowmore smokiness. On the palate come cedar wood and rich treacle toffee, and the finish is spicy, with toffee, sherry and barley.
