Bowmore Laimrig Batch 4 is a 15 year old Islay single malt, bottled at 54.1% and released in 2014. Laimrig is Gaelic for "pier".
It was matured in Spanish sherry oak butts in Bowmore's No.1 Vaults, described as the oldest maturation warehouse in Scotland and the only one below sea level. The colour is teak brown.
The nose is sweet dark sherry with figs and cocoa, set against smoky peat and a salty tang. On the palate come chocolate, sherry, raisins and smoke. The finish is long and lingering.
