This is a 17 year old Islay single malt from That Boutique-y Whisky Company, bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It comes from a single refill bourbon barrel, which let the spirit show itself over the years rather than being overshadowed by a first-fill cask. 343 bottles were produced.
The nose opens with bright, citrusy smoke, a lemony peat. The palate brings dark chocolate and the fresh spice of new oak. The finish is markedly salty, balanced by a lingering sweetness of juicy fruit.
