Bowmore – 18 Year Old Deep & Complex Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Bowmore 18 Year Old Deep & Complex is an Islay single malt, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It spent its years maturing in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. Bowmore keeps its own floor maltings, which supply part of the barley, and the result is a medium peated spirit. Here that spirit meets the dark fruit and chocolate character that sherry casks bring to the distillery's whisky. The nose is rich dark chocolate, treacle toffee and date oil. On the palate there is bitter-sweet orange peel and coffee roasted over peat smoke, and the finish brings velvet mocha and macadamia nut chocolate.
