Bowmore 18 Year Old is a single malt from the Bowmore distillery on Islay, matured in oak casks that previously held bourbon. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered, with added colour.
The bourbon casks bring a gentle sweetness that sits alongside peat, a salty, maritime edge, ripe pear and citrus.
The nose is smoky and peaty, with floral and fruity notes, honey, spice and vanilla. On the finish the smoke and peat linger, with a warmth of spice and vanilla, before it closes on a soft saltiness.
