This is a 23 year old Islay single malt from Bowmore, bottled by Murray McDavid for its Mission Gold series. It was distilled in 2001. The whisky began its maturation in traditional oak casks and then spent a finishing period in specially selected Port pipes. The Port finish adds red fruits, sweetness and spice alongside Bowmore's peat smoke and coastal influence.
