A 27 year old Islay single malt from Bowmore, released in the Timeless Series in a run of 3000 bottles at a cask strength of 52.7% ABV. It spent its first fifteen years in a mix of sherry and bourbon casks, then moved to first-fill oloroso sherry butts for a further twelve.
The nose is full-bodied and fruit driven, with prunes, sultanas and stone fruits, followed by candied oranges and toffee. The palate is rich and warming, with peat, chocolate and more dried fruit. The finish is long and powerful, with a firm oloroso character.
