This is a 29-year-old limited edition Islay single malt from Bowmore, part of the Timeless Collection. It is bottled at a cask strength of 53.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle, with 3,000 bottles filled.
The whisky combines sherry-seasoned European oak casks with ex-bourbon American oak barrels, filled in 1991 and 1992.
The nose opens with dark fruit like sherry-soaked raisins, then cocoa, bitter orange, cherry blossom and liquorice. The palate is rich and layered, with sweetness set against peat and sea salt. The finish is long and warming, with drying peat and salt on the lips.
