This is a 32 year old Bowmore from Islay, bottled at 47.3% as part of the No Corners to Hide series, a collaboration between the graphic artist Frank Quitely and Bowmore's Master Blender Ron Welsh. It is a travel retail exclusive, limited to 666 bottles.
The whisky spent 30 years in ex-bourbon American oak hogsheads, followed by two years in Essencia barriques.
The nose brings Seville orange peel, old cigar box, Manuka honey, salted caramel and light gorse flower, with liquorice, nutmeg, vanilla, peat smoke and iodine behind. The finish is warming, with dry grass and subtle smoke.
