This is a 34 year old Islay single malt from Bowmore, bottled at 41.4% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It comes from 1989 and forms part of Murray McDavid's Afficionado collection of vintage Scotch whiskies.
Two casks, numbered 3415A and 3415B, were finished in first-fill Oloroso sherry octaves, and 160 bottles were produced. Murray McDavid has been ageing whisky in casks that previously held fine wines and spirits since 1994.
The nose offers floral smoke, salted peach and sweet peat. The palate brings fruity embers, mellow cigar leaf and clove, and the finish carries rose petal, sea spray and lingering smoke.
