Bowmore – 8 Year Old 1999 Feis Ile 2008

This is a Bowmore single malt from the 1999 vintage, aged for 8 years and released for the Feis Ile festival on Islay in 2008. It was distilled at Islay's oldest working distillery. The whisky matured entirely in three Limousin French oak casks, a wood traditionally used for Cognac. It was bottled at natural cask strength, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. Only 800 bottles were filled for festival visitors, each numbered by hand and signed by the distillery manager. It is typically described as pairing coastal smoke with sweet spice, vanilla cream and bright orchard fruit.
