Bowmore – The Devil's Casks Batch 3

Devil's Casks Batch 3 is a single malt from Bowmore, the oldest distillery on Islay, and the third release in the series of that name. The name comes from a local tale as old as the distillery. Townspeople chased the devil from the church and through the town until he hid in the distillery. He was never found, supposedly because he had slipped away in a cask aboard the Maid of Islay, bound for the mainland. Bowmore malts part of its own barley on site, and both that and the malt it buys in are smoked to 25 ppm.
