Bozal Mezcal Barril Reserva (75cl, 47%)

A single-agave mezcal made from 100% wild Barril agave (Agave Karwinskii), which grows for 15 to 20 years before distillation. It is distilled in Santa Catarina Minas using small clay pots, with open-air fermentation using natural wild yeast in clay or wood vessels. The spirit is light and herbaceous rather than heavy and oily, with crisp agave notes, mint leaf, green tea leaf, fragrant herbs, rosemary, lime, pine and peppercorn. Keg N Bottle notes herbaceous and spicy aromatics with forest grass and anise flower, a slight sweetness, agave, honey and river stone on the palate, and a floral finish. Compass Wines adds citrus and floral notes with hints of green peppers, and a balance of citrus and creamy banana.
