The Unpronounceable is an 11 year old, heavily peated Islay single malt from the Brave New Spirits WhiskyHeroes range. It was produced at Bunnahabhain Distillery under the Staoisha name and is a limited release.
It matured in a single first-fill American Bourbon barrel and was bottled at 48.2% ABV. The Bourbon cask sets vanilla, caramel and honeyed sweetness against the peat.
The nose brings bonfire smoke, vanilla, caramel and toasted coconut with a touch of salty citrus. The palate is creamy and smoky, with dark honey, toasted nuts, grilled seaweed and burnt citrus peel. The finish is long and smoky, with roasted almonds, oak spice and toffee.
