Bruichladdich – 10 Year Old 2012 Organic Barley (50%)

This is a 10 year old Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, made from organically grown, unpeated Scottish barley of the Publican variety, grown at Mid Coul farm. The spirit was distilled in 2012. It matured entirely in first-fill bourbon barrels and was bottled at 50% ABV, without chill-filtration or added colour. The aim is to let the flavour of the barley come through. It is described as showing vanilla cream, honeyed cereals, orchard fruits and citrus zest, with a soft coastal freshness.
