This is a 14-year-old Bruichladdich from Islay, distilled in 2008 and matured in a single first-fill bourbon barrel. It is the seventh release from Cut Your Wolf Loose, and 234 bottles were released, each in a 70cl size.
The nose is creamy and malty, with tropical flowers and a bowl of frangipani. Malt and floral fruit arrive straight away on the palate, then soften into brûléed peach with saline notes, driftwood and a touch of sun warmth. The finish is of medium length, with a very faint gamey note at the very end.
