Bruichladdich – 17 Year Old Travel Retail Exclusive (1990s) (1L)

This is a 17 year old Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled in the 1990s as a travel retail exclusive in a 100cl bottle. It dates from the Whyte and Mackay era, and the whisky itself was distilled in the 1970s, before the distillery changed hands. The nose combines marshmallow, burnt toffee and dried figs with sea spray, beach pebbles and fresh lemon and orange zest. On the palate there is orange juice, pineapple and lemon sherbet, followed by vanilla bonbons, marmalade and toffee apple. The finish is long and warming, with sweet citrus and soft spice.
