Bruichladdich – 18 Years Old Re/Define Eighteen (70cl, 50%)

This is an 18 year old Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled by the distillery at 50% in a 70cl bottle. It is un-chill filtered and free of added colouring. The nose is ripe peach and honeysuckle with violet and lavender, balanced by vanilla and creamy coconut from toasted American oak. Tropical fruit, melon, apricot and citrus follow, along with honey, vanilla custard, caramel and crème brûlée. The palate is rich and viscous, with honey, caramel and fresh fruit, then cereal, sweet porridge, barley sugar and toasted oak, with honeycomb in support. The finish is mineral, with oak, stone fruit and a delicate floral note.
