This is a 21 year old Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled by the distillery at 50% in a 70cl bottle. It is un-chill filtered and free of added colouring, and it was distilled, matured and bottled at the distillery. Sherry casks and American oak are both part of the picture: the sherry casks bring nuts, chocolate and almond, while the American oak adds vanilla, caramel, brown sugar and honey. The nose opens with earthy nuts and layers of spice, then prunes, ground black pepper, roasted coffee beans, liquorice and leather. With time, stone fruit, vanilla, honey and crème brûlée come forward. The palate is led by nutmeg, black liquorice, raisins and dates. A drop of water brings out a maritime side with citrus, geranium and lavender.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
