Bruichladdich Bere Barley 2010 is an unpeated Islay single malt made from Bere barley grown in Orkney, an old six-row variety. It belongs to the Barley Provenance series. The barley was harvested in 2009 and the spirit distilled in 2010.
It matured for eight years in ex-bourbon casks, which are American oak, and was bottled at 50% ABV without chill-filtering or added colour. The distillery has worked with Orkney's agricultural institute since 2006 to bring the variety back into whisky production.
It is described as showing cereal notes and a full, fatty texture in the mouth.
