Bruichladdich – Islay Barley 2009 (70cl)

The fourth edition of Bruichladdich's Islay Barley series, distilled in 2009 from barley harvested in 2008. The barley is fully malted and grown locally on Islay, in the varieties publican and oxbridge. It was bottled in late 2015. The whisky spent six years mainly in former bourbon casks. It is an unpeated Islay malt. The nose offers lemony fruit, honey, barley, apples, caramelised almonds and butterscotch. The palate is complex, with iodine notes.
