Bruichladdich – Octomore Edition 13.2 (70cl, 58.3%)

Bruichladdich Octomore Edition 13.2 is a heavily peated Islay single malt from the Octomore series, bottled at 58.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is made from 100% malted barley dried over Islay peat smoke. The whisky spent five years in Oloroso sherry casks from Fernando de Castilla in Spain, a maturation that still leaves the smoky, malted character of Octomore in front. The nose combines strong smoke with charred wood, sea salt, sweet vanilla and a hint of fresh citrus. On the palate come intense smoke, pepper, toasted nuts, honey and a touch of seaweed, in a full, silky texture. The finish is long and warm.
