Octomore Edition 16.1 is a super heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, with a peating level of 101.4 PPM. It is bottled at 59.3% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and with no colour added.
The colour is spun gold. The nose brings sea breeze and orchard fruit wrapped in gentle peat smoke, with dried heather, camomile, vanilla, toasted almond, cedar, smoked paprika and iodine. The palate opens with soft but immediate peat smoke, salted caramel, honeyed melon and apricot, then cinnamon, star anise, sea salt, toffee and earthy minerality. The finish is long and smoky, with black pepper, toffee and sea salt.
