Buffalo Trace is a Kentucky straight bourbon in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 40% ABV without added colouring.
It is made from Kentucky and Indiana corn, rye and malted barley, and matures for several years in new charred oak barrels. The distillery stands in Frankfort on the Kentucky River and took the Buffalo Trace name in 1999, the year this bourbon was introduced.
The nose brings vanilla and mint over dark, sweet molasses. The palate opens sweet with brown sugar and spice, followed by oak, toffee, dark fruit and aniseed. The finish is long and soft.
