Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old is the flagship single malt from the distillery on the northern coast of Islay, in a 70cl bottle at 46.3% ABV. It is unpeated, so fruit, malt, oak and coastal character come forward rather than smoke.
The whisky is matured for 12 years in bourbon and sherry casks, and is bottled without chill filtration and with its natural colour.
The nose is fresh and gently fruity, with floral notes, dried fruit, soft vanilla and a coastal hint. The palate is rounded and nutty, with vanilla, caramel and sherry-cask richness. The finish is long, with fruit, malt, oak and a delicate saline note.
