Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old Matured in Madeira Wood – Pride of Islay – Thompson Bros. (46.1%)

This is a 12-year-old Islay single malt from Bunnahabhain, bottled by Thompson Bros. under the Pride of Islay name at 46.1%. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour, in a limited edition of 256 bottles. The whisky matured for twelve years, the last five in Madeira casks. That finish sits on the typically unpeated spirit of the distillery and adds a fruitier depth. It is described as combining ripe red fruit, strong nut aromas and a maritime freshness.
