Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old is the starting point of the core range from the Islay distillery. An unpeated single malt, it matures in bourbon and sherry casks and is bottled at 46.3% in a 70cl bottle, in natural colour and without chill-filtering.
The nose is fresh, fruity and floral, with fine dried fruit, blackcurrant jam, vanilla and cloves, and a hint of seaweed. On the palate are rich sherry, roasted nuts, sweet malt and juicy sultanas, with warming spice turning to velvety caramel and a light coastal note. The finish is long and full, with sherry notes fading on a touch of sea salt.
