Bunnahabhain – 13 Year Old Bàgh Garbh

A 13 year old Islay single malt from Bunnahabhain, named after Bàgh Garbh, the roughest bay on the island. It is finished in Amontillado sherry casks, which add depth and warmth while the coastal character of the distillery remains. The nose is led by roasted hazelnuts, dried figs and orange marmalade, with polished oak, a breath of sea air, honeyed malt and gentle spice. The palate brings sultanas, molasses toffee and spiced orange peel, then dark chocolate, clove, dark berries, sweet vanilla and a hint of tobacco. The finish carries roasted walnuts, dried fruit and a touch of cinnamon.
