This is a 13 year old Bunnahabhain from Islay, selected by the independent bottler Woodrow's of Edinburgh. It was finished in a first fill Foursquare rum barrel and bottled at cask strength, 61.9%, in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill filtered and of natural colour.
The nose combines tropical fruit, vanilla and a hint of dark sugar with dried fruit and gentle coastal salinity. The palate is rich and warming, with toffee, ripe stone fruit and a faint briny edge. The finish is long and sweet, with molasses and warm spice. A little water opens it up further.
