Bunnahabhain – 18 Year Old

Bunnahabhain 18 Year Old is an unpeated Islay single malt, matured for 18 years in oloroso sherry casks. Sherry rather than peat smoke leads the character here. It is bottled non-chill filtered and without added colouring. Bunnahabhain was built in 1881 on the Sound of Islay, and distils in the tallest pot stills on the island. The long necks keep heavier flavours from rising, which makes a lighter spirit. The nose offers dried fruit, honey with nuts, toffee and a little spice. The palate is soft sherry nuts, dried fruit and oak with toffee and a touch of salt, and the finish is dry and fruity with spice and salt.
