This is a single cask Islay single malt from Bunnahabhain, distilled in 1989 and matured for 35 years in a refill American oak hogshead. Gordon & MacPhail bottled it on 25 April 2025 for its Connoisseurs Choice range, at cask strength of 43.6%. The outturn is 108 bottles, non-chill-filtered and with no added colouring.
The nose combines gorse, apple and quince, with a touch of old leather. On the palate come mango and pineapple alongside ginger and sweet liquorice, with malty grain and a fine hint of menthol. The finish is medium and smooth, leaving fresh citrus, oak and sweet aniseed.
