A 33 year old Bunnahabhain from Islay, distilled in 1991 and matured in a refill American hogshead. Gordon & MacPhail bottled it on 24 April 2025 as a single cask release in the Connoisseurs Choice Upper range, with 127 bottles at 47.5% ABV.
It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring. Bunnahabhain stands on the Sound of Islay and is known on the island for an unpeated style.
The nose offers vanilla and caramel with a light saltiness, toasted hazelnut and caramelised apple. On the palate, sweetness and malt meet orange marmalade and gentle oak spice. The finish is long, with soft salty notes, a hint of seaweed and mild sweetness.
