Bunnahabhain – 2012/2024 Sea Shepherd First Fill Sherry Butt (70cl, 46%)

This Bunnahabhain is an Islay single malt bottled by Signatory Vintage for Sea Shepherd, the marine conservation organisation, which receives part of the proceeds. It was distilled on 28 May 2012 and bottled on 28 February 2024 at eleven years old, at 46%. The whisky matured entirely in a single first fill sherry butt, and 850 bottles were filled. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The nose brings dark fruit, raisins, nuts, malt and a maritime spiciness. The palate is full and sherried, with dried fruit, caramel, spice and a salty Islay note. The finish is long, spicy and slightly dry, with dark fruit and oak.
