A 25 year old small batch single malt from Bunnahabhain, Islay's most northerly distillery, released in 2019 in a 70cl bottle at 46.3% ABV. It is one of 400 bottles produced, and it is bottled without chill-filtration or added colour.
Bunnahabhain dries its malt with warm air rather than peat, so the whisky carries no smoke or peat flavour.
The nose is sherried, with sweet toffee, polished leather, cinnamon and a faint hint of cardamom. On the palate, fruit compote with cream and caster sugar gives way to roasted malt, chestnuts and stewed raisins. The finish is long, with demerara sugar, mixed spice, nutmeg and caramel.
