This is a single cask Bunnahabhain from Islay, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in its Connoisseurs Choice series. The whisky was distilled in 1989 and spent 34 years in a refill American hogshead before bottling on 3 January 2024.
Cask 5891 gave 165 bottles at a natural cask strength of 47.3%. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The nose brings orange oil, fresh-cut grass and green apple, with salted lemons, grapefruit and ripe oak. On the palate pineapple and citrus meet coconut, then roasted peanuts and sweet white chocolate. The finish is long, with lingering spice and lemon peel.
