This is a sherry-matured Islay single malt from Bunnahabhain, bottled at 50% ABV in a one-litre bottle. An Cladach is Gaelic for the coast, a nod to the distillery's position on Bunnahabhain Bay. It is non-chill-filtered, and its golden colour is natural.
The sherry casks give strong sherry character, and warehouses near the shore add a light maritime note.
The nose has dried fruit, creamy caramel, vanilla and clear sherry notes with a subtle sea air. The palate is smooth, with roasted nuts, rich spice, sweet fruit and a little salt. The finish is long, with dried fruit and a gentle sweetness before the maritime spice fades.
