Bunnahabhain – Ceobanach (70cl, 46.3%)

Bunnahabhain Ceobanach is an Islay single malt bottled at 46.3% in a 70cl bottle. The name is Scottish Gaelic for smoky mist. It began as an idea of Ian MacMillan, the distillery manager at Bunnahabhain, who wanted a whisky that reflected the origins of the distillery, its place and the character of its malts. He drew on island life in the 1800s, when the whole community relied on peat for warmth, fuel and trade. Smoke from open fires mixed with salty sea air to form a mist you could almost taste. The distillery itself was built in 1897.
