Bunnahabhain – Eirigh Na Grèine (1L, 46.3%)

Bunnahabhain Eirigh Na Grèine is an Islay single malt whose Gaelic name means 'the dawn', inspired by the first sunlight along the island's north-east coast. It matures in ex-bourbon American oak, sherry casks and a large share of red wine casks, which add fruit, depth and a coppery colour. Peat smoke is practically absent, leaving ripe fruit, chocolate and spice to lead. It is bottled at 46.3% ABV in a 1 litre bottle, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The nose offers ripe red fruit, cherries, plums and raisins with honey, dark chocolate and vanilla. The palate is creamy, with black fruit, candied orange, caramel and cocoa and a light salty touch. The finish is long and warm, with bitter chocolate, berries, spice and toasted oak.
