Bunnahabhain – Feis Ile 2020 Madeira Cask Finish 2002 (53%)

This is Bunnahabhain's Fèis Ìle bottling for 2020, distilled on Islay on 24 October 2002. A total of 1,164 bottles were released, each with a small rainbow motif on the label. The whisky spent fourteen years in refill hogsheads before moving in June 2016 into ex-Madeira hogsheads, where it finished for three years. It was bottled in January 2020 at a cask strength of 53%, with natural colour and no chill-filtration. The nose brings ripe figs, orange marmalade, summer berries and nutmeg. On the palate, vanilla and caramelised fruit lead into cinnamon and raisin, with dry oak underneath. The finish is long, dry and warm, ending on a trace of marmalade.
