This Bunnahabhain was distilled on 28 October 1998 and aged for 23 years. It is a Feis Ile 2022 limited edition, at 49.7% in a 70cl bottle. It matured for just over twenty years in warehouses on the shore of the Sound of Islay.
On 11 November 2019 it was moved into casks that had held French Calvados brandy, where it finished for almost two years.
The nose offers barley sugar, pear drops and toffee apples, then dates and a floral, conifer-like top note. The palate is sweet and fruity, with green apple and pear candies, cereal, oily notes, toffee and dried fruit. The finish is spicy and powerful, then floral.
