This is a peated Bunnahabhain, bottled for the 2009 Fèis Ìle, the Islay festival. Mòine is Gaelic for peat, and the distillery is better known for an unpeated style. The whisky was distilled in 2003 and bottled on 29 April 2009 at around six years old, after three months finishing in Oloroso sherry butts at Warehouse 7. It was bottled at a natural cask strength of 58.4% ABV, limited to 642 numbered bottles signed by the Distillery Manager. The nose is fresh, with summer grass, drifting smoke, light perfume and dried herbs. The palate is sweet and malty, then white pepper, marine smoke and a hint of citrus. The finish is dry, spicy and lightly smoky.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
