Bunnahabhain Staoisha 10 Year Old 2013/2023 Bourbon Barrel #10481 - The Old Friends (57.7%)

A ten-year-old Staoisha from Bunnahabhain on Islay, distilled in 2013 and bottled in 2023 by The Old Friends. It matured in a first fill American bourbon barrel and is bottled at 57.7% ABV, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. 233 bottles were filled. The Old Friends bottles independent single casks at cask strength, and this is one of them. The nose has well-integrated alcohol, with maritime, earthy peat followed quickly by vanilla sweetness and grain. The palate keeps the vanilla and peat, though the peat is less earthy than on the nose. The finish is long, pleasantly smoky and sweet.
