Bunnahabhain Staoisha 12 (2013/2026) – 1st Fill Barrel – Hidden Spirits (70cl, 51.5%)

This is a 12 year old Staoisha from Bunnahabhain on Islay, the distillery's smoky, peated style. It was distilled in October 2013 and matured in a single 1st fill barrel before Hidden Spirits bottled it in March 2026 at 51.5%, without chill-filtration, in a 70cl bottle. The cask was chosen by the independent bottler for its Pop-People Collection. The nose is led by peat smoke with salt and seaweed. On the palate it is full and robust, with smoke alongside a gentle malty sweetness and a note of salt. The finish is long, with lingering peat and a hint of hazelnut.
