Bunnahabhain – Toiteach A Dhà (70cl, 46.3%)

Bunnahabhain Toiteach A Dhà is a peated Islay single malt, bottled at 46.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Bunnahabhain's standard bottlings are made from unpeated malt, so a smoky expression stands out in the range. The mash bill is 90% malt peated to 40ppm and 10% unpeated barley. The name means 'Smoky Two' and marks the second edition of Toiteach, which it replaced. It shows a stronger sherry influence than its predecessor. The nose is peaty, with hints of sherry and rich oak. The palate starts with warming peat, moving to a sweet Oloroso sherry influence, rich oak and a little gentle pepper. The finish is long and complex, with smoke lingering.
