Burnside 1999 Berry Bros. & Rudd Single Cask (70cl, 57.9%)

Burnside is a blended malt from Dufftown, bottled by Berry Bros. & Rudd as a single cask of 156 bottles. It was distilled in 1999 and bottled in 2023, and is described as teaspooned. After time in a bourbon hogshead it was finished in an Oksamyt wine cask from Ukraine. It is bottled at 57.9% ABV in a 70cl bottle, with natural colour and without chill-filtration. The nose needs time in the glass, then shows raspberry yoghurt, grilled lime, dried flowers, oak spice and blood orange. On the palate come more raspberries, boiled sweets, vanilla and grated apple, and the finish is spicy and citrusy.
