This is Bushmills 10 Year Old single malt, an edition marking 400 years since the distillery was granted its licence to distil in 1608. Bushmills stands in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The whiskey is triple distilled from malted barley and bottled at 40% ABV.
It spent ten years maturing in a mix of bourbon barrels and sherry casks.
The nose is fresh and zesty, with ripe fruit, honey, vanilla, milk chocolate and a little citrus peel. The palate is velvety, with vanilla, malted barley, apple tart, mocha and dried apricot. The finish is crisp and clean, drying gently, with oak, fruit and chocolate lingering.
