Bushmills 12 Year Old Bordeaux Cask Finish is a triple-distilled Irish single malt from the Old Bushmills Distillery in County Antrim, bottled at 47% ABV and non-chill-filtered. It is a limited release from the 2012 vintage.
The whiskey matures for six years in bourbon barrels and Oloroso sherry casks, then spends at least six more in first-fill Bordeaux casks from Pomerol.
The nose is ripe plums, wild hedgerow berries and rich vanilla. The palate is velvety, with sweet plum, raspberry, black cherry, apple and ginger. The finish is long and dry, with gentle spices, lemon peel and ripe fruit.
