Bushmills – 16 Year Old Single Malt (70cl, 40%)

This is a 16-year-old Irish single malt, an original Bushmills bottling at 40%, in a 70cl bottle. It is matured in Oloroso sherry and bourbon casks, then finished in port pipes, the large casks traditionally used for port. The three cask influences bring dark fruit, caramelised red berries and roasted nuts, along with vanilla and spice. The nose offers dried citrus fruit, toffee and caramel. On the palate there are dried figs, roasted nuts and vanilla pod, with honeyed vanilla and toasted oak. The long finish carries orange marmalade, milk chocolate and concentrated berry jam.
